How It Works

How It Works

At the heart of DataSave lies the Autonomous Data Transfer Session (ADTS) Interface. This is the method by which large online files are downloaded autonomously

ADTS provides an interface that enables users to transfer data easily and readily to and fro Internet websites during off-peak hours when data charges are at their lowest. An ADTS Interface transaction has 2 phases to it:

A Human Phase

An Autonomous Phase

Human Phase

The Human Phase is so called because it is carried out by a human user.

The function of the human phase is to collect details about the data to be transferred at a later (autonomous) stage. This stage starts when the user navigates to the web page of the Online Media Service Provider (for example an online music or video store). From there, the user can elect to “ADTS” the data file he or she wants to transfer.

When this option is selected, all information needed to execute the autonomous stage is gathered. The collected data is stored on the ADTS website server.

Autonomous Phase

The Autonomous Phase is so named because it happens without user intervention. No humans are actively involved during its execution.

The autonomous phase occurs independently of human invocation. The ADTS client that runs on a user’s smart device (or computer) starts up at preset times (off-peak) and connects to the ADTS website. From there it determines whether the user ADTS account has any pending data transfers. Information collected from the human phase is used to drive the transfer.

  • Identify the online Information Provider
  • Authentication details (user account)
    • Unique ADTS transaction for access to the required file

  • Opportunity to create novel services that leverage the inherent advantages of DataSave
